ABOUT THE SERIES
The MIoD Leadership Series is designed to provide insights, knowledge and thought leadership to enable board directors and senior management to stay abreast of evolving challenges and trends and pursue continual learning to remain effective leaders.
We are delighted to announce that the seventh instalment of this series will be delivered by the well-known and well-respected Prof. Dr. Aung Tun Thet on the topic of "Mindful Leadership".
ABOUT THE SESSION
Mindful leadership is a leadership practice focused on cultivating very high levels of self-awareness, wisdom, and self-mastery, allowing a leader to bring his or her best self to all aspects of leadership and daily life, and to inspire greatness in others. Mindful leadership is an approach in which you consciously cultivate your ability to be present, open-minded, and compassionate when interacting with team members – and you show the same consideration to yourself. Mindful leaders don't need to motivate through fear or manipulation because their people are self-motivated. By cultivating self mastery, mindful leaders are able to navigate stressful situations with calm and clarity.
The seminar will address 5 issues starting with introducing the concept of mindfulness in leadership, followed by the importance and objectives of Mindful Leadership. The five traits of Mindful Leadership will be presented. Finally, the seminar will conclude with the presentation of four mindful leadership practices.
