Manny is responsible for all aspects of the firm's strategy and people across Bain's global network of 63 offices in 38 countries. He leads the firm in its mission to help clients create high levels of value while overseeing a culture perennially named as one of the world’s best places to work. Manny took over the helm as global leader in March 2018 from Bob Bechek, and is the first leader of Asian heritage in the firm’s legacy.
Manny originally joined Bain in 1988 and has held multiple leadership roles including Chairman of the Asia-Pacific region and Global Leader of Bain’s Full Potential Transformation Group. Throughout his over 30-year career at Bain, Manny has advised CEOs from around the globe while being recognized as one of the foremost experts on advising companies through large-scale transformations, with most depth in technology companies. He is sought after for speaking on business, digital transformations, ESG leadership and business’ role in society. He has expanded Bain’s commitment on Environmental, Social and Governance issues through its investment of over $1 billion in pro bono consulting work, partnerships with leading groups such as OneTen, The Asian American Foundation and the Nature Conservancy, and the launch of the firm’s Impact Investing, Sustainability & Responsibility as well as Diversity, Equity & Inclusion practices.
Manny is a member of the Advisory Board of the MIT Sloan School of Management. He is also a member of the World Economic Forum International Business Council (IBC), World Economic Forum Alliance of CEO Climate Leaders, Fortune CEO Initiative and the US Business Roundtable (BRT). He holds MS in Management from MIT Sloan School of Management and BS in Chemical Engineering (magna cum laude) from Illinois Institute of Technology. Manny is originally from the Philippines, and currently lives in the San Francisco area with his wife; they have four children.
