A Zoom Webinar Presentation - Open to Consumers/Community Members and Professionals


During these unprecedented times of Covid-19, how are the legal and medical communities working together with dementia patients/clients? Attendees will learn about the early warning signs of dementia, maintaining safety and when and how to seek a medical consultation. Advanced care planning and the goals of care will also be discussed. They will also review the legal options available with the current limited access to the court system in order to safeguard an individual with an early or advanced stage dementia diagnosis.


1.5 CE CREDITs will be awarded to Illinois nurses, social workers, professional counselors and nursing home administrators.

    Dr. Victoria Braund is the Director of the Division of Geriatric Medicine at NorthShore University HealthSystem. She is also Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine.

    Originally from North Dakota, Dr. Braund attended the University of North Dakota for her undergraduate and medical school. She completed her residency in Internal Medicine at the University of North Dakota School of Medicine Affiliated Hospitals in Fargo. She then moved to Chicago where she completed a fellowship in Geriatric Medicine at the University of Chicago.

    She maintains an active clinical practice and is involved as a teacher of Geriatrics in both the Internal Medicine and Family Medicine residencies at NorthShore.
