    Howard Chao is an investor, lawyer and counselor to entrepreneurs. He began his work life as a corporate lawyer with O'Melveny & Myers and for many years was the Chair of the Firm's Asia Practice. He helped establish the firm's offices in Tokyo, Shanghai, Hong Kong and Beijing, and practiced for many years as a cross-border investment specialist based in Asia. Since 2001 Howard has been based in Silicon Valley, but continued to dedicate substantial time covering the Asia markets.

    In recent years Howard has moved to the principal side of investing and deal-making. Howard actively makes angel and other VC investments in earlier stage companies through his personal vehicle, Doon Capital, usually in collaboration with other investors. He maintains close working relationships with various VC and PE funds. Howard invests primarily in startups located in the Silicon Valley and China. Because of Howard's extensive experience with Asia, many of his deals have an Asian (particularly Chinese) nexus.

    Howard also maintains an active strategic consulting practice. Howard's extensive experience with investment and financing transactions in both the US and China leads him to advise and assist various clients in both places. His transactions span many different sectors, and include multinationals, financial investors and startup companies.

    Nick Sramek is a Managing Director of Doon Insights, leading workshop development, content creation, and outreach. Nick has extensive experience assisting organizations in preparing for a world not yet visible. An exceptional communicator of complex issues to diverse stakeholders, Nick has focused expertise in understanding and communicating global macroeconomic, technological, and geopolitical trends, as well as the importance of the economies of the Asia-Pacific region.

    Previously, Nick served as the Director of International Relations of Silicon Valley Forum, a Silicon Valley organization that focuses on startup mentorship, corporate digitization, and government innovation strategies. Prior to that, he was the Program and Knowledge Director for the Pacific Pension & Investment Institute, a non-profit educational organization based out of San Francisco that assists corporations, pension funds and financial institutions in carrying out their responsibilities in respect to the Asia-Pacific. Through research fellowships, he has also developed a passion for understanding the role of technology in society, particularly in developing economies.

    Nick received a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and History from Trinity University (Texas), and a Master’s degree in International Affairs from the University of California, San Diego’s school of Global Policy and Strategy. He is conversational in Mandarin Chinese.

She founded and served as CEO of CLOC (Corporate Legal Operations Consortium), the non-profit that fundamentally changed the legal operations profession globally. With more than a decade of legal operations expertise at major enterprises such as Oracle Corporation and Sun Microsystems, Connie currently serves as Vice President, Law, Technology and Operations at NetApp, Inc. During her tenure at NetApp, Connie has helped build an innovative and award-winning legal department that is recognized internationally for its groundbreaking work in the areas of strategic planning and digital optimization.

    Connie holds a JD, an MBA and a BA in Economics. Her awards include Women, Influence and Power in Law, lifetime achievement award, the 2019 Powerlist, Corporate Counsel’s National Women in Law, 100 Women of Influence in Silicon Valley and the Top 10 Deputy General Counsel by the Daily Journal. In 2021, Business Insider listed her as one of nine people disrupting the legal industry.

    Connie founded the Corporate Legal Operations Consortium (CLOC) and served as the Chief Executive Officer for the organization's first three years, taking the organization from a membership of 40 to 2,000. Connie has the honor of being named a Market Shaper by The Financial Times in 2018 and named to the 100 Women of Influence in Silicon Valley, a Top Ten Deputy General Counsel in California and was recognized as LegalTech's Law Department Operations Manager of the Year.

Before coming to NexisLexis, Bill served as the Head of Corporate Development for eBay Enterprise, Forbes Media, DoubleClick. Prior to that, he served as a Director of Media Investment Banking at Salomon Brothers and Bear Stearns. He has a broad experience in M&A, capital-raising and accounting. He earned his CPA while at PricewaterhouseCoopers, and obtained his MBA from NYU.

    Nik Reed is the co-founder, and COO of Ravel Law, a legal research and analytics platform acquired by LexisNexis in 2017. While at Lexis, Nik led the business and product strategy for the company’s award-winning litigation analytics product Context, a product resultant of the combination of Ravel’s AI based technology with LexisNexis’ content. In November 2019, Nik joined Knowable as SVP of Product, Design and R&D, where he is now putting his product, data science and legal analytics experience to work on contracts.

    As a law student at Stanford, Nik co-founded Ravel, as a joint research project between the law school, the design school, and the computer science department, with the goal of using modern AI based tools to help attorneys better perform legal research. Prior to Ravel, Nik worked in management consulting where he focused on international mergers and acquisitions in the technology industry. Nik has a JD from Stanford Law School, an MS in Management from Hautes Etudes Commerciales Paris and a BA in Political Economy from Stanford.

    Prior to joining JEGI CLARITY, Scott led Bloomberg’s legal market business, was global co-head of M&A for UBM and had added responsibilities at PR Newswire and Vannin Capital, one of the world’s largest legal finance organizations.

    Scott earned his BA degree from Williams College, and his JD degree from Fordham University School of Law. He is a member of the Board of Directors of Pro Bono Net, a not for profit organization focused on using technology and innovation to close the Access to Justice gap, and a certified FINRA representative.

    Prior to the company’s acquisition by Litera, Haley was founder and CEO of Doxly. She has over a decade of experience working on complicated transactions in the corporate, private equity, and venture capital verticals. Her practice has extended from the Midwest at Ice Miller to the West Coast at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati.

    Haley previously served as a member of the finance committee and co-led the venture capital vertical at Ice Miller. She holds a J.D. from Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law and obtained a BA, Chemistry and Political Science while a science research fellow focusing on cancer research at DePauw University in Indiana.

    Mike was trained in Fortune 100 settings with increasing responsibility in sales, operations, general management. Building new divisions and corporate development experiences led him to running successful start-up and growth companies. Finally, through Knox Capital, where he is an Operating Partner, Mike invests and advises early stage through lower middle-market tech and business services companies such as HaystackID where he is Executive Chairman.
    Prior to the $40,000,000 recapitalization of Haystack, Mike was Co-Founder & CEO of nSource, a Knowledge Process Outsourcing (KPO) firm that was boot-strapped over a five-year period. nSource was profitable within its first year of operation, thanks to an industry first, multi-million-dollar contract to design and manage the North American back office service center for one of the top 10 law firms in the world. nSource was successful in consulting and implementing across a wide range of large law firm back and “middle office” services including accounting, risk management, IT, research, marketing, and administrative support. After 4 years of 40%+ growth per year, nSource acquired a law firm accounting outsourcing firm that accelerated nSource’s entry into law firm billing, AP/AR services. Under Mike’s leadership, the company was recognized by Inc. 5000 as one of the fastest growing companies in 2016 and remains a leader in the law firm consulting/services sector.
    Before starting nSource, Mike was President at Integreon, a $100M per year global leader in business process services supporting the legal, financial services and corporate marketplace. He joined Integreon through their acquisition of CBF Group where he was CEO. Prior to CBF and Integreon, Mike served as EVP Strategy & Business Development at Bowne Business Solutions (NYSE:BNE), a $300,000,000 BPO provider. Bowne purchased Donnelley Enterprise Solutions a $100M IT, Litigation Support and BPO provider (NASDAQ: DESI). Over this ten-year period at DESI and Bowne, Mike held general management and business development roles, culminating in a global executive role responsible for Sales, Marketing, Strategy & M&A.
    Mike began his career at Eastman Kodak Company where he spent a decade in sales and management roles with Kodak’s multibillion-dollar B2B systems division, culminating in an early-stage role in Kodak’s entry into the BPO sector, through the start-up of Kodak Imaging Services. Mike was responsible for leading KIS’ growth of the professional services market.
    Mike completed an Executive MBA program in Product Development at MIT’s Sloan School of Business and has a BBA with Honors from University of St. Francis where he played intercollegiate tennis and is an active alumnus. Mike resides in Riverside, IL where he enjoys spending time with his family, continues to play competitive tennis and works with civic organizations focused on underprivileged youth. Mike was on the Chicago launch committee for Cradles to Crayons which provides children from birth to age 12, living in low-income and homeless situations, with the essential items they need to thrive – at home, at school and at play.

Prior to Stavvy, Potter was Senior Director of Strategy & Innovation at Rocket Mortgage leading a team of product managers and housing policy analysts. In that role, Potter worked closely with large mortgage investors like Fannie & Freddie as well as start-ups and fintechs looking to disrupt the real estate market. Potter joined the Capital Markets group at Rocket Mortgage from Legal where he spent 2+ years as Legal Counsel to Rocket Mortgage. He currently sits on the Board of Directors for CATIC Financial, a title insurance company and advises several start-ups and fintechs.
