    Chief Commercial Officer at Clean Energy Services (CES)

    Kevin Doffing is the Chief Commercial Officer for Clean Energy Services (CES) responsible for all sales and marketing. CES is an Independent Service Provider of operations and maintenance services for the renewable energy industry in wind, solar, and energy storage.

    He was recently an Executive in Residence for Rice University’s Cleantech Accelerator and co-founder of Houston’s first renewable trade association, the Renewable Energy Alliance - Houston, the first renewable energy trade group in the city. He is a non-resident senior fellow and Director of the Atlantic Council’s Veterans Advanced Energy Project.

    Kevin graduated from Texas A&M and subsequently served in the Army as an infantry officer deployed to Iraq. While in Iraq Kevin led a light infantry platoon in the highly contested area of Ar Ramadi. In addition to executing dozens of combat raids and patrols of the area, he designed and implemented a contractor development process that reduced violence while incentivizing local merchants to grow their businesses. He returned from combat with zero casualties and was awarded the Bronze Star and Combat Infantryman’s Badge.

    Following his military service, Kevin did a turnaround on an oil field supply company with a successful exit. At the same time, he served as an executive for Combined Arms, an innovative technology platform for expediting service delivery and accountability to transitioning military veterans and their families. During this time, he served as the veteran business advisor for the University of Houston Small Business Development Center and launched the Houston chapter of Bunker Labs, a national veteran entrepreneur community and a startup accelerator with WeWork for veterans. He received an award from the Small Business Administration as the Veteran Business Advocate of the Year.

    He currently volunteers on the board of Impact HUB Houston and CleanTX. He previously served on the board of the Spring Branch Education Foundation. He is a graduate of Leadership Houston and the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses programs. He is currently enrolled in the Executive MBA program at Rice University graduating in the Spring of 2023.

    John Kushneryk

    Joint Venture Asset Manager at Shell

    John is responsible for originating offshore wind new business development activities in the US Northeast. In the past year, John oversaw Shell’s investment in the Atlantic Shores Offshore Wind Joint Venture and successful award of the first awarded offshore wind transmission development as part of New Jersey’s State Agreement Approach (SAA), Mid Atlantic Offshore Development.

    John began his career in the Canadian Forces, followed by working in renewables for Hydro Quebec before pursuing university studies. Since joining Shell, his experience has been predominantly in Projects, from the Oil Sands to Renewable Natural Gas in Oregon to traditional oil and gas in Iraq. Professionally, John is most proud of the >250k hours Goal Zero that his teams have delivered.

    John’s wife, Cynthia, is a fertility doctor who also used to work for Shell. They live in Manchester, New Hampshire, with their two miniature dachshunds, Sophie and Oscar.

    John’s passion at work and at home (beyond family) are sports and inclusivity. An avid runner, he has been a part-time consultant for professional sports franchises. He is a Certified Professional Coach and Certified Co Active Coach, always looking for the right fit in terms of a coaching relationship to evoke transformation. As a person with disabilities, he is always seeking to build communities to develop a strong sense of belonging, and is an executive the Shell enABLE USA leadership team.

    Manager of Programs and Partnerships at Coursera

    Steven Uwajeh is a seasoned leader with extensive experience in business post-M&A improvement and transformation, and human capital management. With a track record of leading global teams, Steven Uwajeh has successfully driven workforce planning, recruitment, performance management succession planning, as well as employee engagement and conflict resolution efforts.

    As a Chief Diversity Officer at Jefferson Nuclear Accelerator Facility in Virginia, Steven Uwajeh developed the organization’s first DEI strategy for creating an inclusive culture. The initiatives resulted in the US Department of Energy’s highest rating being awarded to Jefferson Lab.

    At Shell, Steven Uwajeh served as the lead graduate recruiter for sub-Saharan Africa, HRBP for global functions and Production, and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion SME. In those roles, he designed and implemented people and business strategies, and processes that increased the number of women in STEM and in leadership positions, and supported business leaders to achieve superior results.

    Most recently, as a Manager of Programs and Partnerships at Coursera, Steven Uwajeh led a global effort to align key human resources business and operations practices. Steven Uwajeh developed restructured Employee Resources Groups to better transition from siloed country organizations to regional collaborative organizations.

    Steven is a published author and alumnus of Columbia University, IE Business School, and International House, New York.
