Member Briefing: Australia’s Southeast Asia Economic Strategy to 2040

AustCham Lao and the Australian Embassy are pleased to invite you to an event to showcase Australia's Southeast Asia Economic Strategy to 2040, recently published by the Australian Federal Government. The event will be hosted by Australian Ambassador Megan Jones.

The Strategy recommended new activities to encourage Australian investment in Southeast Asia, including establishing Investment Deal Teams. The Deals Teams will focus on opportunities in strategic sectors. These sectors include infrastructure, net zero transition, agrifood, health, digital economy and advanced manufacturing. A member of the regional Deals Team, Trish Lee, will join the event to discuss how their work can be leveraged in Laos.

During the event we will hear from H.E. Megan Jones, Australian Ambassador to the Lao PDR and Trish Lee, Consul (Investment), Australian Consulate-General, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, with a Q&A session moderated by Alistair Brown, President of AustCham Lao.
