Following his Mechanical Engineering (Honours) Degree at Imperial College, University of London, Shirendra subsequently qualified as a Chartered Mechanical Engineer. He also is an Associate of the City & Guilds Institute, London. He counts 25 years of sound manufacturing experience, in the United Kingdom and Sri Lanka.

Shirendra moved into the Apparel industry when he assumed the position of Managing Director of Courtaulds Clothing Lanka in 1997. He was responsible for developing it from a green field site, to one of Sri Lanka’s largest apparel manufacturing businesses.

Shirendra joined MAS Holdings in 2005, to head their newly formed ‘Active’ division, which employed over 16,000 people, with manufacturing facilities in 16 locations in Sri Lanka, including one in India, and two in Jordan. He held this position through till December 2016, up to the point when MAS went into re-structuring the working model for the division.

He has now moved on to assume the position of Chief Operating Officer of MAS Holdings, as of January 2017, where he will be responsible for the new projects that the Group is venturing into in the Western Hemisphere, along with the setting up of a Logistics Hub in Sri Lanka, and taking overall responsibility for Group Corporate Communications, amongst many others.

Shirendra is a member of the Board of MAS Capital, the Company through which all of MAS's Apparel based investments are made. He is also a member of the Board of MAS Innovations.

Sarinda is the CEO & Managing Director of MAS Kreeda, the Nike division of MAS Holdings, heading Environmental Sustainability for MAS. He is also an active member of MAS’ Innovations Leadership Team.

He joined MAS in 2001 as the CEO of Linea Aqua, a start-up joint venture in conjunction with MAS Holdings, Brandot International and Speedo International.

Sarinda is an alumnus of Ithaca College, New York, where he graduated with a BSc. in Business Management and received his Executive education at the INSEAD School of Business, Cornell University and Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth.

Aside from heading Environmental Sustainability for MAS Group, Sarinda also serves on the Biodiversity Sri Lanka Board of Directors.

As Director of Sustainability for MAS Sharika leads the Central Sustainability team and champions the practice of Sustainable Manufacturing as a core function at MAS through the implementation of the group’s integrated sustainability strategy which aims to drive sustainability into the heart of the business in the key areas of renewable energy, chemicals, waste and biodiversity.
Her role involves the implementation of the MAS Group’s strategy through specific action plans, projects and initiatives, setting-up teams to manage water, energy, emissions, chemicals and materials projects and supporting the divisions to achieve their targets. Her work also involves building a culture of sustainability within the organisation that has a ripple effect wherever MAS operates.

Dr. Anush Amarasinghe has a celebrated career, from being an early investor and Chief Operating Officer of Millennium Information Technologies in 1999, a founding partner and investor in E-Channeling, Sri Lanka’s premier e-commerce platform to being a Director and an early investor in Alumex Anodizing and Machine Tools (Pvt) Ltd in 2004.
Dr. Amarasinghe’s most recent investment is in BPPL Holdings PLC which he, acquired in 2012 and listed on the Colombo Stock Exchange in 2017. BPPL Holdings is one of Asia’s largest manufacturers of brushware and related tools, all of which are exported globally to customers such as Tesco PLC, Carrefour, Home Depot and Lowes. Since the acquisition, BPPL has been transformed to a significant eco-friendly institution where approx. 20% of Sri Lanka’s PET waste is collected and washed at its washing plants with synthetic fiber and polyester yarn then extruded for use by brush makers and knitting mills respectively.
Through Eco-Spindles (Private) Limited, a subsidiary of BPPL, the group produces synthetic filaments and polyester yarn for a local and international customer base. In a landmark pioneering venture, Eco Spindles also produces polyester yarn using PET flakes. The manufactured recycled draw textured polyester is tailor-made to serve fabric manufacturers across the world.
