Michael Holter is an award-winning watercolor painter whose work appears in private and corporate collections across the U.S. and abroad. A lifelong artist, Michael's career has spanned art education, creative direction, and gallery ownership. He holds a B.A. in Art Education and an M.A. in Visual Communication.
He is a signature member of numerous prestigious organizations, including the American and National Watercolor Societies, the American Impressionist Society, and the Salmagundi Club.
Michael describes his style as impressionistic:
"I like to represent people or places and let the painting evolve from that recognizable structure. The goal is to balance careful representation with the freedom and expressiveness that makes painting so compelling."
Influenced by artists like Charles Reid, Richard Schmid, and John Singer Sargent, Michael says much of his growth came from self-directed study and constant painting.
