Event Details
This class provides instruction on welding safety, machine setup and settings, basic welding practices (tack, t-joint and butt-joint or v-groove) and troubleshooting.
Please note: this training has the prerequisite of the Metal Shop Training and therefore attendees will need to be approved by Generator to ensure they've previously taken the required training.
REMINDER:
Please wear:
- Long pants (cotton, no synthetics)
- Close-toed shoes (leather upper if possible). Boots recommended. No sandals or mesh type sneakers
-Short sleeve cotton shirt or long sleeve with sleeves that can be rolled up to your elbows
- Wear clothes that you do not care about being damaged or stained
- No jewelry, necklaces, rings, etc.
- Long hair must be tied back
- Safety glasses are required. If you wear glasses or have prescription safety glasses, bring them
It is not required, but some people prefer to wear an N95 or similar mask while MIG welding. Consider bringing one if you'd like.
Medical Considerations
If you have a medical device that can be affected by electromagnetic fields (pacemaker, hearing aid, etc), please consult your doctor for clearance before signing up for a welding class.
