The carbon capture & storage (CCS) scheme is one of the most scalable solutions for achieving decarbonization. In addition, it is expected to play an irreplicable role in the transition towards a net-zero economy, even when our societies run on 100% renewables. This talk will overview the different variants of CCS technologies, their associated costs and logistic challenges. Next, we still discuss a case study of the only commercially operating post-combustion CCS project in the world. Lastly, we will discuss the challenges and opportunities of CCS, as well as CCSU technologies and relevance to Singapore's decarbonization efforts.
