OBN Digital BioTuesday: 'The Future of Talent in Life Sciences'

Tuesday 23 February, 17:00-19:00

A burgeoning pipeline of talent is critical to the long-term growth and success of any industry, with life sciences being no exception. Developing a home-grown pipeline is an industry priority, to unlock skills and fill talent shortages across all STEM areas.

But how can we ensure that the right talent have access to the right jobs, and that tomorrow's workforce is broad, diverse and possesses the right soft skills and technological understanding to drive advancement?

Our panel of thought leaders will address what the word 'talent' means to them and consider how we can optimize the flow of talent into the industry, by engaging with a broader range of candidates through non-traditional channels.

Speakers will also consider:

• A review of the current life sciences recruitment landscape

• Attracting talent from other industries and fostering a 'lifelong learning' approach

• The expectations of the future workforce

• A global approach to recruitment – what are the barriers?

• How are Higher and Further Education infrastructures supporting the future talent pipeline?

• An insight into Life Sciences Apprenticeships and technical/vocational qualifications

• How can the public sector and industry work together to provide long term solutions?'
