Ocean Swim Intro Course (Level 1) - Glencairn

The Intro Course consists of 4 guided sessions at a tidal pool or protected beach, which creates an ideal setting for swimmers new to open water.

Dates: Saturdays 8, 15, 22 February, 1 March

Time: 09h30-10h30

Location: Glencairn Tidal Pool

What you'll learn:

• How to handle cold water
• Skills such as sighting and breathing techniques
• Building up to swimming 800m in cold water
• Strength & conditioning exercises

Entry requirements:

To sign up, you need to be able to swim at least 200m (8 lengths) continuously in a pool.

Equipment needed:

• Swimming costume
• Goggles
• Wetsuits are optional
• (Branded silicone swim cap provided)

At the end of the course, there's an option to continue onto our Level 2 Intro Course, provided that you are comfortable swimming at least 800m in open water.
