Diane Lackey currently serves as a Multimodal Planning Manager with the South Carolina Department of
Transportation (SCDOT) Office of Intermodal & Freight Programs. With twenty-four years of transportation
programs and planning experience, Diane joined the SCDOT Office of Public Transit as a Program Manager
in 2006 and the Freight Programs Office in 2015. She is directly involved in Freight Planning activities in support
of SCDOT's mission to repair and rebuild South Carolina's transportation network to ensure that our citizens and
businesses can travel on a safe and reliable system.
Prior to her career in transportation, she served in the U.S. Navy (Retired) as a Health Services Administrator. Diane
holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Healthcare Administration from the University of Maryland and a Master of
Public Administration degree from Webster University. She is a 2014 graduate of the South Carolina Certified Public
Manager (CPM) program.
Diane and her husband, Michael, have three grown children and a Belgian Tervuren dog
who more than fills the empty nest gap with his "enthusiastic demeanor." In her free time, Diane is an avid home
sewist. She also enjoys cooking, traveling, and serving at Eastlake Community Church in Irmo, SC with her husband.
