Event Details

In response to the uncertainties presented by Covid-19 Pandemic, many companies and governments have requested their employees and teams to stay-work at home. While a significant number of employees already work from home at least part of the time, the new policies leave many employees — and their managers — working out of the office and separated from each other for the first time.

Virtual workplaces, in which employees operate remotely from each other and from their managers, are a reality, and will become even more common in the future.

Virtual teams and teleconferencing are examples of such arrangements, but they are not appropriate for all jobs, all employees, or all managers. To be most effective in these environments, managers need to do two things well: Shift from a focus on time to a focus on results: and recognize that virtual workplaces, effective workforce and improved supervisory skills among existing managers.
