Introducing peer buzz sessions - a unique type of social learning. What happens here? The sharing of knowledge and challenges across many different industries open up opportunities for connection, collaboration, and new ways of thinking.

Presented by Botree Inc., join Sandbox Centre and come together for an interactive peer learning buzz session that discusses some of the challenges with the new era of a workforce and the employer's role. While baby boomers are least likely to quit, they make up only 25% of the workforce. That's bad news for employers, as the vast majority of professionals— those under the age of 60—are increasingly open to seeking new jobs. Leaders in various departments and especially human resource professionals must work in tandem to not only attract, but develop processes that make employees feel valued for their experiences. Cameron Christie, Director of Operations at Gerrits Engineering, will guide the discussion on:

  • Addressing challenges you are facing in the new wave of a workforce - multigenerational
  • Requirements that employees are looking for in an employer
  • How can department leaders within an organization navigate a smooth transition for this new wave
  • What opportunities are available to curate a motivated workforce

Key takeaways include:

  • How to turn the posed challenges into opportunities for your organization

    Cameron Christie

    Director, Operations of Gerrits Engineering

    https://www.gerreng.com/

Cameron joined Gerrits Engineering in the summer of 2019 as the Operations Support Manager; responsible for all non-engineering office items (IT, People Development, Accounting, etc.). His “People and Culture First” methods quickly aligned with the leadership team, allowing the company to continue to expand rapidly.

As the company continues to grow, Cameron’s role has become increasingly more important: focusing on the future of Gerrits, the betterment of its people, and making sure the Engineers have the resources they need to be successful.

When Cameron’s not working on the next big thing in the office, he enjoys spending time with his family, playing guitar, puttering around his shop, and leading youth in Scouting. He loves to talk to people about their “WHY” and how they ended up where they are today. If you see him around, make sure you say “Hi”; He will definitely want to grab a coffee with you.
