W. Edwards Deming is credited as the "father of the quality". His ideas and methods inspired Japan's extraordinary transformation into an export powerhouse and were subsequently expanded into a comprehensive philosophy of leadership, known as the "System of Profound Knowledge".
The Deming approach, which challenges much of the "conventional wisdom" on how to manage processes and people, has underpinned the success of organisations across all industries and fields, from manufacturing and services to education and economic development.
As an introduction to Deming, this webinar focusses on one of his radical positions: that performance evaluations and related tools such as KPI-based employee "scorecards" are counterproductive and detrimental to any organisation, and should be abandoned
immediately!
With attendee participation, we will explore why Deming held this view, and importantly, what he proposed to do in place of "management by scorecard". We will also place these topics within a specifically Filipino context.
This webinar is targeted to senior leaders responsible for managing teams in the Philippines. Also recommended for business unit heads of HR.
