Want to play with some clay?! Join us for a hands-on mug making workshop!

This workshop includes:

  • All the materials necessary for you to create & decorate your own slab built mug
  • Step by step instruction, with opportunities for individual exploration & 1 on 1 assistance as needed. We'll go over:
  • Handle styles
  • Assembling your cylinder
  • Attaching your handle
  • Smoothing & finessing your form
  • Decorating techniques with underglaze (clay friendly paint)

We'll laugh, we'll play, & after your projects have been fired, you'll be the proud owner of a handmade, food safe, fully functional ceramic mug!

The firing & clear glazing of your mug is included (this process is done behind the scenes & takes ~4 weeks).

You will be emailed when your finished mug is ready for pickup at Generator.

    Cry Baby Clay

Katie Cameron is a local potter who creates under the Moniker “cry baby clay.” She grew up in South Burlington, but has spent the past decade in Minneapolis where she ran a pottery studio that focused on affordable & casual access to working with clay. She recently moved back to Vermont & is excited to dig deeper into her personal pottery practice, while also honoring her desire to teach by coordinating pop up clay workshops. Her classes are fun, welcoming, silly & informative! Katie prioritizes authenticity & play in her everyday life, which certainly comes through in her ceramic work as well. You can check out her website crybabyclay.com & keep up with her antics on Instagram @crybabyclay.
