The goal for program ATLAS is to help children with ADHD build confidence and learn social skills through sports.
It is organized by teen mentors from Hua Chong Institution who call themselves Project Decode. They are themselves student-athletes who have experienced first hand how precious sports can be in not only helping to regulate and focus their brains but also finding connections with others.
The teen mentors have planned 4 engaging sessions in July for our SPARKLINGs to not only get the chance to have fun playing sports & games together (eg. soccer & badminton) but also learn EQ skills like journalling and positive reframing. And for the finale, participants and their families will be invited to watch a live soccer game together on 23 Jul !
We hope that through Program ATLAS, our SPARKLINGs will get a positive first taste of team sports and hopefully this experience will motivate them to continue building sports and exercise into their lives. And if they succeed, they will have a powerful pillar that will help them thrive !
