The Biomedical Society of Zambia (BMSZ) is collaborating with one of its key partners the International Federation of Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine (IFCC) to conduct training on internal quality control (IQC), external quality assessment (EQA), and standardisation of laboratory tests. This will be an enlightening training that delves into the intricacies and best practices of EQA, IQC, and the vital principles of laboratory test standardization. This comprehensive training will equip participants with the knowledge and techniques necessary to execute these practices effectively. Trainees will be able to understand the fundamental 'how' and 'why' behind each process, recognizing their pivotal role in maintaining precision and accuracy in laboratory testing.

Further, the participants will be better equipped to fulfil the requirements of accreditation bodies and regulators with regard to these topics. The training will draw on the vast expertise of visiting lecturers from Germany, France, Australia and South Africa who are at the cutting edge of laboratory quality and research. Participants will also have the opportunity to network with each other and the lecturers for personal and career growth. The training has an allocation of 100 continuous professional development points and will aid the process of license renewal with the Health Professions Council of Zambia (HPCZ).
