She has a background in aging social services, adult day care, senior living communities, aging education and geriatric care consulting in addition to having developed a variety of intergenerational service-learning programs in the North & Northwest suburbs. She has a Master’s Degree in Gerontology from Roosevelt University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
She has worked with aging and educational organizations including Great Opportunities Adult Day Care, Resource Center for the Elderly, Retirement Research Foundation, the National Academy for Teaching & Learning about Aging, Oakton Community College, Generations of Hope, District 214 Community Education, University of Illinois Extension and Illinois Pioneer Coalition. Maureen served as the Chair of the Community Paint-A-Thon from 1995-2007, is a professional member of the American Society on Aging and Generations United, and she is a volunteer at JourneyCare Hospice.
Maureen loves theater & travel, is an avid reader, teaches religious school, is a loyal Cubs fan and has a beloved tabby cat.
