Solange Charas is with us again sharing PART II of the predictions she has for Talent Leaders in 2024. Joining her is her co-author and thought leadership partner, Stela Lupushor, founder of Reframe.Work Inc. Bernadette Finken of Best Buy Co. Inc and Ryan Bond CPO of Thrive Restaurant Group are joining as "Executives in residence" and will provide their perspectives on these predictions.

One of the most significant predictions they make is that CHROs must acquire financial literacy and data analytics skills in order to stay competitive within their roles and human resources in general. This expectation will become the norm, resulting in probable turnover for CHRO positions.

Another trend they anticipate is the merging of technology and AI with people management. HR Leaders must consider the significance AI will have on policy, governance, and the skill requirements for CHROs to implement and utilize this technology.

If you are a Human Capital leader you are no longer simply the manager of the Human Capital programs, you are more importantly accountable for the financial and human impact of these programs on enterprise performance.

Solange is a Distinguished Principal Research Fellow at The Conference Board and the Founder and CEO of HCMoneyball, a SaaS-based solution which allows subscribers to use data to benchmark and optimize the efficiency and returns on HC investments.

Being a Practitioner herself and with over 30 years of consulting experience working with organizations across all industries, maturities, and sizes, her passion is on enhancing strategic decision-making in the boardroom and C-Suite.

Stela is a thought leader, speaker, educator and futurist on a mission to humanize the workplace. She is a Sr.Fellow with The Conference Board, consults Reframe.Work Inc. clients on inclusive, digital and data driven workplace experience, and teaches at NYU the next generation of HR leaders. Previously Stela transformed the workplace practices at Fidelity Investments, TIAA, IBM, Price Waterhouse and PwC Consulting and their clients. She is the co-author of "Humans At Work: The Art and Practice of Creating the Hybrid Workplace", and together with Solange co-authored "Humanizing Human Capital: Invest in Your People for Optimal Business Returns

Dr. Solange Charas is a senior-level human resources expert with 30+ years of experience as a consultant, practice leader, top corporate executive, and board director across all industry sectors. She was the chief human resources officer at Havas Worldwide, Benfield Group, and Praetorian Financial Services Group, and held senior-level positions at Ernst & Young, Arthur Andersen, and Towers Watson. She served on the boards of two public companies holding the chairperson’s role for the Audit and Remuneration Committees. She is a Distinguished Principal Research Fellow with The Conference Board. Charas is the founder and CEO of two organizations: Charas Consulting (2000) and HCMoneyball (2018).

Charas is a recognized expert in the area of human capital analytics and developed proprietary approaches to create and manage high-performing teams as well as technology-enabled solutions to quantify the return on investment of human capital. She is experienced in leading large and diverse programs and staffs. She has extensive international experience, including competency in five languages.

She earned a PhD in Designing Sustainable Systems from Case Western Reserve University, an MBA in Accounting and Finance from Cornell University, and a BA in International Economics from the University of California, Berkeley.

She has authored and been cited in over 175 practitioner articles, including “Why Men Have More Help Getting to the C-Suite” in Harvard Business Review, chapters in The Handbook of Board Governance eds. I and II by Richard LeBlanc, and the up-coming Coaching the Team at Work by David Clutterbuck. Her research has been cited in more than forty academic articles.

Ryan Bond is the Chief People Officer at Thrive Restaurant Group, which operates over 170 restaurants across 15 states with 8,000+ team members. Ryan helps leaders build trust and create work environments where people can flourish.
He holds a Master’s degree in Organizational Development from Friends University with an applied research emphasis on the intersection of leadership, emotional systems, adult learning, and their impact on work performance."

Bernadette Finken is an HR and Digital, Analytics, and Technology leader for Best Buy Co. Inc. She is currently leading within a talent mobility assignment providing strategic support to Best Buy’s Chief Digital, Analytics, and Technology Officer.
Prior to this strategic assignment, Bernadette was Head of Talent Acquisition. In this role, she was responsible for helping the company attract diverse, exceptional people to work across a wide range of roles and geographies.
Bernadette has more than 20 years of strategic human resources and technology experience, including leadership roles in HR technology, workforce administration, employee and labor relations and talent acquisition.
Under her leadership, Best Buy’s talent acquisition team has undergone a significant transformation aimed at better competing for talent in a rapidly changing workforce. This includes the introduction of new strategies to support key business initiatives and achieve the company’s ambitious hiring goals.
Before joining Best Buy in 2011, Bernadette spent 15 years at Lawson Software, where she served in a variety of leadership roles within product management, consulting, IT, and accounting. She received her bachelor’s degree in humanities from the Franciscan University of Steubenville (Ohio).
