This event is organised by the Belgian-Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce in Japan in collaboration with three corporate partners: TotalEnergies, Umicore and Solvay. It's a great line-up and so your BLCC is happy to share this event with our members in Hong Kong!

Japan has vowed to reach carbon neutrality by 2050. This requires investing in renewable energy, but the large adoption of intermittent renewable energy sources such as solar and wind will also require investment in energy storage. Both batteries and hydrogen are potential solutions for storage.

To talk more about this topic, please join us for an interesting talk with 3 speakers:

The first speaker will be Philip Olivier, Country Chair at TotalEnergies International S.A. Japan Branch. He will present the investments TotalEnergies has made into renewable energies and the challenges faced in increasing the share of renewable energies in the electricity mix.

The second speaker is Fabrice Stassin, Director of Government Affairs Electromobility Projects at Umicore Belgium. He will give the presentation on "Innovating towards sustainable batteries made in Europe". Umicore is already well-known as a precious metal recycler and are now committing to battery recycling as well.

The third and final speaker will be Kazumasa Imoto, President of Solvay Japan and BLCCJ Board Member. He will shed a light on the green hydrogen activity of Solvay.

After all our speakers have concluded their presentations, they will happily take the time to answer your questions.

Our Hong Kong members can register for free using this event page. Following your registration, we will share your details with the BLCC in Japan so that they can supply you with the custom Zoom link.
