Understanding your market is absolutely critical when it comes to building value in your business.


Markets are not static, so it's not just about being across all the components of your market and customers now but being highly tuned to what the future looks like and having a deep understanding where your company fits to best position your offering.


This is a full day of sharing insights, practical advice and war stories to help you plan for and scale value. We also make sure there are lots of opportunities to get to know each other and make valuable connections.


Runway is designed for early stage startups - their founders and CEOs and existing and budding investor directors.


It will be held in Auckland and includes:

  • three sessions fronted by highly experienced investors, founders and members of the early stage ecosystem
  • our incredibly noisy and fun speed dating session - which is not meant to be about pitching but more a super efficient way to meet everyone in the room!
  • and at the end of the day we provide one more chance to make new friends over a glass of wine.

Creating product market fit


Ensuring you have product market fit is essential to building value in your organisation. We will dig into how you do it and how you know you've got it right. In this session we will speak to two companies who nailed finding product market fit including how they used customer validation to ensure they were building the right product for the right market.


Relocating your company offshore


Making the decision to move some or all of your company offshore is a big decision in a company's journey and it can be fraught with unforeseen challenges. Understanding the thought processes, what you need to do before you relocate and what you can leave until you get there is so important. We'll also cover how you can leverage your investors to support you.


Understanding the role of liquidity in scaling



Creating liquidity is often a feature of creating value inflection points as your venture scales. It's important that founders and investors are aligned about the role liquidity points play in generating value and taking the company to the world. In this panel discussion we will cover how you might think about liquidity, including secondary sales, when you should start talking and exploring creating liquidity and how you prepare for it, especially when it's at a major value inflection point like an exit.
