SAGEA Webinar 2023: Mental Health: The Missing Ingredient for Graduate Success?
The World Health Organisation estimates that twelve billion working days are lost every year to depression and anxiety alone. Awareness of the importance of mental health for everyone, including graduates, has increased dramatically. But beyond treatment and support for those living with mental illness, there is a dramatic opportunity to proactively strengthen the mental wellbeing foundations on which our future leaders are building their careers.
Join Linda Mthenjane and Andrew le Roux from The Space Between Us as they unpack:
- the impact of family background and environment on effective functioning and ultimate career success of graduates,
- the skills that graduates can be taught and the habits they can make part of their lifestyle as they take ownership of their mental health,
- the value of developing company-wide peer support networks that become the glue that connects graduates to the company and
- the opportunity to provide line managers and human capital teams with the skills and tools to create an enabling eco-system for young professionals to thrive in.
This interactive session will tap into the experience of the presenters, case studies of young professionals they have worked with as well as your own perspectives.
