Main Schedule

14:00 - 18:00
Networking – A vital marketing strategy
Events create an excellent opportunity to meet potential customers and build recognition of our product, services and market. The possibility to learn of the wider industry and disruption happening, from other entrepreneurs and organisations who are in the same space is an advantage that networking events offer. It also provides you connections to authors, editors, designers, marketers, potential staff and others in the ecosystem, who complement the services you offer that could grow into new partnership opportunities. The balance between selling and building long-term business relationships is a skill that publishers need to develop.

In this highly-interactive training session, participants will learn how to:

- Put the theory related to networking into practice, in a manner relevant to the publication process
Identify your networking style to sharpen your public relations skills at trade shows, conferences and other such opportunities

- Convert trade-show interactions and contacts into mutually beneficial engagements, while enhancing your cross-cultural communication style

- Leverage speaking opportunities (panel, workshops) to identify potential customers

- Build a givers mentality, the secret sauce of networking
