The Singapore College of Insurance and the General Insurance Association of Singapore (GIA) Construction & Engineering Workgroup is jointly organizing the C&E Webinar on Offshore Wind – Subsea Cable Risks.
Offshore wind developments are getting more complex as they move further offshore into deeper waters. Subsea cables are one of the key components within any given wind farm development. However, these subsea cables have posed an ongoing challenge with operators, installers and insurers when they suffer damage.
In this presentation, the program leader introduces some of these challenges, and approaches that have been utilized to mitigate them and reduce risks to these wind farm developments. Examples include cable design, manufacturing quality control, loadout and installation considerations. Additional attention is also drawn to current codes and guidelines governing the manufacture and installation of these subsea cables.
