From the evolution of AI in cyber threats to best practice strategies for securing data and effectively responding to cybersecurity incidents, our panel of esteemed experts will explore a range of critical topics designed specifically for young professionals and aspiring leaders eager to deepen their understanding of AI and cybersecurity risks in the contemporary business landscape.     Shawn Anderson

    Chief Transformation Officer at Queensland Country Bank

    Shawn has been with Queensland Country since October 2001, where he started out on a traineeship through Torgas at the Aitkenvale Branch. During his time with Queensland Country, Shawn spent a decade as the Credit Manager before moving into a number of executive roles. These executive roles saw Shawn take on responsibility Credit, Property, Member Support, Smart Budget, Data and ICT with delivery of a number of large key projects for the business including: the system conversion to Data Action, mergers with ECU and Maleny Credit Union, and the conversion to a mutual bank to name some.

    In October 2017, Shawn became the Chief Risk Officer for Queensland Country, a role which has responsibility for the Risk, Compliance, Legal and Audit functions within the business. This role was held until September 2022 at which time Shawn has taken on the Chief Transformation Officer role. This new role within the business has responsibility for delivering a Digital Transformation for the business, while having responsibility for ICT, Data and the Transformation teams. This work will see Queensland Country deliver enhanced member and staff experiences through new software and systems that will enable the business to achieve its strategic goals.

    During this time, Shawn has undertaken a number of external pieces of study which includes being a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and an MBA through James Cook University. Shawn is looking forward to delivering improvements for members and staff over the years ahead.

    Jenny is a Solutions Architecture Manager at Amazon Web Services, leading the team that supports the Australian Public Sector's Transport and Utilities customers.

    With over 30 years of IT experience, Jenny has an extensive background covering a range of technical domains, including security, networking, Unix/Linux, virtualisation, and cloud computing. She has held technical, management and strategic roles in private and public sector organisations, local government, system integrators, and technology vendors.

    In addition to her managerial responsibilities, Jenny is a member of the Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning field group within AWS. She has spoken extensively about AI/ML and security at AWS Summits and public events, sharing her expertise and helping organisations understand how to securely adopt these technologies to achieve their business objectives.

    Jenny's breadth of experience and technical depth, combined with her ability to effectively communicate complex topics, makes her a sought-after speaker and leader in the cloud computing industry.

    Principal Consultant at Integrated Solutions

    Josh Sawell is a seasoned IT Consultant who has helped many business leaders craft and implement effective IT and Cybersecurity strategies. For over a decade, Josh has worked closely with Pilot Partners, one of Queensland’s largest independent Chartered Accounting firms, designing, building, and refining their technology infrastructure. When the Pilot leadership team needs to tackle a tech-related question, problem, or opportunity, he’s usually the one they call.

    In his current role at Integrated Solutions Group Queensland, Josh draws on his extensive experience building modern work platforms and document management solutions to guide organisations in seamlessly and securely adopting AI technologies like Microsoft Copilot. As a determined problem-solver who started his career on the IT Service Desk, Josh has come to understand a lot about how real people interact with technology in the real world. This enables him to design solutions that stick or to figure out why something isn’t working, even if the answer lies outside the technology stack.

    A strong believer in values, Josh sees the conversations emerging around AI as important opportunities to better understand what makes us who we are and why it matters how we use the technology that surrounds us.
