The SIOG Advanced Course in Geriatric Oncology is designed for professionals who want to stay at the peak of their expertise. The course is a CME accredited training programme lead by international experts in the field of geriatrics and oncology designed to provide specific skills in assessment, care pathways and therapeutic choices for older patients with cancer. This 2-phase advanced course covers the general principles of cancer treament using case-based discussions in geriatrics for clinical oncologists as well as in clinical oncology for geriatricians.
Phase 1: A 4 day- course in Treviso, Italy from June 30-July 3, 2021
Phase 2: this phase consists in attending the SIOG 2020 Annual Conference in Geneva, Switzerland (November 4-6 2021)
University Certificate will be provided to participants at the end of phase II on the proviso of attendance to Phase I and Phase II of the course.
The faculty remains present and available for individual discussions and guidance as well as for general supervision for the development of multidisciplinary treatment teams in each participant's institution within one year of completion of the course. It also performs an assessment of the level of activity of the teams within 5 years after the end of the course.
