Etienne GC Brain, MD PhD, has been working since 1998 as a medical oncologist at the Hôpital René Huguenin (Saint-Cloud, France), which is now part of the academic centre Institut Curie. He obtained both his MD and PhD from University Paris V René Descartes, the latter after leading works in preclinical and clinical pharmacology on alkylating agents and liver metabolism in Boston (Dana Farber Cancer Institute and Boston University) and Saint Cloud (Centre René Huguenin). He was the Deputy Director for Research at Centre René Huguenin from 2008-2009, until the merge with Institut Curie happened in 2010. This latter has made the “multisites institution” Institut Curie one of the largest hospital dedicated to cancer management in Europe, with special focus on breast cancer (~ 3,000 new cases yearly), employing 2,000 care-givers and 1,000 researchers. Etienne Brain is currently in charge of the settlement of the new Department of Clinical Research of Institut Curie in Saint-Cloud. He is the chairman of the committee for the evaluation of clinical research of the Institut Curie.

I am full time consultant at the Division of Medical Oncology 1 at the Istituto Oncologico Veneto in Padova.
I specialized in Medical Oncology in 2008 and I am currently attending the Ph.D Programme in Oncology and Oncological Surgery at the University of Padova. I was an International Visiting Scholar at the Moffitt Cancer Center – Senior Adult Oncology Program in the years 2006-2007.
Over my career, I have been committed to medical treatment and clinical research of solid tumours, with particular interest in cancer in the elderly, breast cancer and sarcoma.
I am currently involved as either principal investigator or co-investigator in clinical and translational research projects in oncogeriatric trials.
I authored more than 30 papers in peer-reviewed journals, most of them about breast cancer, sarcoma and cancer in the elderly.
I am serving as scientific secretary of the Haematological Toxicity Guidelines board of the Italian Association of Medical Oncology (AIOM) since 2012.
I am a current member of national and international scientific societies, among which AIOM, ESMO, ASCO, SIOG and I am a board member of the Veneto Regional Section of AIOM, and of the Italian Group for Geriatric Oncology (GioGer).

Giuseppe Colloca is a medical doctor at Policlinico A. Gemelli in Rome, Italy. Graduated in Medicine and Surgery at Catholic University of Sacred Heart of Rome in 2001, after a fellowship in Geriatric Medicine (2006) in the same University, he spent one year in Senior Adult Oncology Group at Moffitt Cancer Center, Florida US and then, in the Palliative Care Unit at Fundacio’ Hospital Asil de Granollers, Barcellon Spain. In 2014 he completed his PhD in Geriatric-Oncology. Member of InterRAI group about geriatric assessment tools, his research and clinical interest are on cancer assessment and pain management in the elderly.
