Petah Marian, Director of Futures Research and Communications at KPMG Australia
Petah Marian is a futurist and forecaster working at the intersection of data science and human insights to help organisations build better strategies for the future.
At KPMG, Petah leads KPMG Futures' research and communications team, where she works to envisage opportunities around future technologies to help inform the venture studio's investment strategy.
Prior to joining KPMG, Petah spent the last 15 years forecasting emerging trends and behavioural shifts across the USA, Europe and Australia for WGSN and The Future Laboratory, as well as writing for publications including Retail Week, Drapers, The Telegraph and Vogue Business. She has advised some of the world’s largest brands, including Google, Tiffany & Co and Levi’s. While at WGSN, she led the creation of new products, including Create Tomorrow: The WGSN podcast.
She has spoken at conferences around the world, including World Retail Congress, Web Summit, Shop Talk, Inside Retail and The Next Web, the British Society of Magazine Editors (BSME) and is regularly quoted in publications including the BBC, Financial Times, The Economist, The Guardian, Vogue, i-D, The Telegraph, Business of Fashion, Broadsheet, Kinfolk and WWD.
She has degrees in Psychology and English from the University of Melbourne.
