Event Details

SS Rice News invites you to our special launch event in Manila, to get to know our clients in the Philippines, while also providing an update on the latest developments across global markets. The team from SS Rice News will deliver insights into global market developments and how these elements conspire to deliver price trends, demand and supply concerns, and provide an outlook in terms of the global rice market.

We are also expecting that exporters and traders with an interest in the Philippines will use this opportunity to join the event to build ties and get close to key developments in the Philippines that will shape the future of exports to the Philippines.

This event also celebrates the 1st anniversary of SS RICE NEWS as a dedicated service to the Asian and world rice trade, with a focus on building relationships that provide the drivers for market analysis and networking opportunities that we present through our work. This is your dedicated news channel and analysis to translate market developments into short reports that summarize each week's trade in Asian and global markets, while delivering a suite of news, special reports and networking events for the benefit our clients and the broader rice trade.

SS Rice News Network 2024 follows from our 2023 event in Bangkok to focused on networking with a half day presentation and panel session featuring our own analysis of markets, and key issues that markets will need to focus on as the 2024/25 trading year reveals itself. This year's emphasis comes in two parts, in providing an update on the state of global rice markets, and the second part is to understand the concerns in the Philippines, since Executive Order 62 revealed a suite of changes including a 15% duty (brought down from 35%) on rice imports, and suggestions of a PHP 29/Kg rice for selected segments of the Philippines. Farmer, millers, importers as well as suppliers and traders and services supporting the Philippines rice market should benefit from an event aimed at delivering a better network between market participants across the rice supply chain.
