Event Details

The relentless impact of Industry 4.0 on supply chain and logistics management will not cease and instead will become more intense as these new technologies become more widely available. There are ongoing projections and discussions of increasing autonomous technologies and robotics adoption, benefits of 5G and the pervasive use of Internet of Things (IoTs) as well as embedding AI/ML (artificial intelligence/machine learning) in machines and systems. Some projections border on the greater fear of job displacements and talents gap but there are also positive signs on raising productivity and work effectiveness.

Supply Chain 4.0 Forum aims to dispel some of the myths relating to the impact of adopting emerging technologies but more important of all, create a platform for an open discussion on how these could be embraced and implemented that will bring exponential benefits to both the companies and its workers.

Panel Discussion – Warehouse Management & Robotics: From Point of Activity to a Place of Innovation

The warehouse is a mini-ecosystem. Its automated and interconnected technologies help to drive the distribution of materials and goods. The advent of new technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT), big data and analytics, augmented reality, wearables, computer vision, low-cost sensors, robots as well as cobots, are combining to enhance warehouse operations. Panellists will share their views of tech developments relating to warehousing and explore the challenges as well as financial implications relating to adoption of such technologies.

Vijay manages Travel, Transportation & Hospitality Industries across Asia Pacific, Greater China and Japan for all lines of business at IBM. He is a member of IBM's Industry Academy and also leads IBM's industry Solutions & Business Development, and TradeLens (www.tradelens.com), in the region.

Vijay was previously the Global Head of Travel, Transportation & Hospitality Industries at Oracle (www.oracle.com) for 12 years, leading sales and business development globally, in addition to the product management and launch of Industry solutions (Airline Loyalty, Aeronautical Billing Systems, Aircraft Maintenance, Fuel Management, Ports Terminal Management, Sales Rating & Operations, Airline Data Model, Passenger & Asset Data and Customer Experience management).

Wayne Appleby has been in Supply Chain systems & solutions for over 3 decades primarily as a Solutions Architect and as the Manager of Technical, Solution and Implementation resources for several global software & logistics companies covering 3PL, sourcing, trading, fashion, retail, F&B, healthcare, FMCG, transportation, freight and ecommerce fulfilment & others.

Based in Asia, predominantly Malaysia for the last 23 years. Working with Dallas Systems, EXE Technologies, Li Fung, LF Logistics & Infor with implementation & solutions experience right across Australia, Asia, USA & parts of Europe

Although initially focused on Information Technology, more recently focused on solutions, digitalization, benefit realization solutions for current and prospective customers right across the supply chain.

Marco De Lorenzo is Director Infor Nexus ASEAN. He is a versatile business professional and entrepreneur with over 23 years of proven track record across different industries such as IT, Consumer Goods and Fashion.
Marco was former Co-Founder and Chief Commercial Officer of Zyllem, Supply Chain IT Startup, Managing Director at Bluefin Solutions, SAP Partner and before that Head of Consumer Business at SAP Asia. With entrepreneurial spirit and having been for 15 years in Asia, he is also the Co-Founder of Infinity Sails Singapore and started his own fashion business in his early twenties in Europe. Marco holds an MBA. Carrying on his flawless record of excelling in strategic leadership, business drive and sales, Marco now leads Infor Nexus’ commercial development and strategy to drive its market adoption in South East Asia.

Alvin started his Logistics profession through his family business HUB Distributors Services, a local SME 3PL firm in Singapore since 1988.

As a forward-looking 2nd generation business leader, Alvin has more than 6 years of experience in business development to grow & corporatize the company through innovative technologies, increasing the Group's revenue by 20% YOY.

As the previous founder and CEO for HUB Logistics, a sister company of the Group that focuses on the container haulage services, he'd successfully built it up from scratch to a sizable fleet consisting of 15 Prime Movers & over 100 trailers within 3 years; moving 1,000 TEUs on average per month.

With a keen interest in making a difference, Alvin is always taking on an active role in the industry's transformation road map and is now the Co-Founder & CEO of Haulio - collaborative B2B community portal that aims to maximize haulage resources through industry level sharing to improve job productivity through our core technology. He is responsible for strengthening the brand's presence, driving supply and demand, as well as business development for the startup.

Benedict Kothe is the Managing Director of Jungheinrich Malaysia and Singapore – sales and service offices of Jungheinrich AG, one of world’s leading intralogistics solution providers with an extensive portfolio of forklift trucks, logistics systems and services. Benedict began his career as a trainee at Jungheinrich corporate headquarters in Hamburg, Germany in 2001. Since then, he has contributed significantly to the business via a number of roles in Europe, China and Singapore.

He was part of the SAP implementation team that introduced SAP to eight Jungheinrich sales units in China, USA and other European countries. From 2007 to 2010, he worked at Jungheinrich China, where he acquired valuable experience into various business areas such as IT, processes, logistics, supply chain and sales. From 2010 to 2013, he took up a new challenge as the After Sales Director at Jungheinrich Singapore before becoming the Director for Logistics Systems After Sales at the Jungheinrich corporate headquarters in Hamburg, Germany in 2013.

Currently based in Singapore, Benedict began his new role as the Managing Director for Jungheinrich Malaysia and Singapore in August 2019.

Kee Wee Ng is the Vice President of global sourcing for Jabil, based in Singapore. He is responsible for Jabil’s global supply chain strategy development and execution for the Enterprise & Infrastructure segment, including supply chain digitization and transformation. He oversees a team of more than 70 employees across Asia, Europe, Mexico and the US.

With a wealth of leadership experience in supply chain management, program management, and operations, Kee Wee has been instrumental in building multiple highly successful global teams in the various roles that he has held. At Jabil, Kee Wee led several key global sourcing initiatives including Jabil Integrated Solutions and the Technology Enablement Framework, which facilitate seamless collaboration, connect capabilities and empower solutions across Jabil’s global supply chain eco-system.

Kee Wee first joined Jabil in 2007 as director of supply chain focusing on supply chain sourcing solutions development and deployment in Asia. He was promoted to his current role in 2009 with increased responsibilities for global supply chain management. Prior to joining Jabil, Kee Wee was based in China where he held various senior roles at another global EMS company. His responsibilities included setting up a greenfield site, program management, business unit management and operations management.

Kee Wee graduated from the University of London with a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration and management. He also holds an MBA from the Rutgers Business School in New Jersey, USA.

With more than 23 years of manufacturing experience, Kee Wee’s rich skill set includes new product introduction management, operations management, global commodity management, commodity engineering, procurement and sourcing. He also has extensive hands-on experience in global team management, human capital management and cross-cultural management.

With a strong passion for social causes, Kee Wee pioneered Jabil Singapore’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) program in 2014, and continues to play a very active role in chartering the site’s social mission today. Through his able leadership, the site has received recognition from several local charity organizations for its significant contributions.

Mathias always stood at the forefront of fast-moving technologies across his successful 20+ years of career. He served some of the world most renowned IT organizations in various senior leadership positions across Europe, North America as well as Asia.

A calculated risk-taker with deep tech industry knowledge, Mathias is leading Endpoint Solutions Operations for TechData, an +11B€ business across Europe. His focus are innovative supply chain solutions, strategic procurement as well as lean returns management to optimize cost-to-serve for TechData and its partners.

Before his transition back to Europe in 2017, Mathias championed the transformation of Avnet in Asia Pacific to be a relevant player in the 3rd platform as well as next generation technologies. His leadership helped to position Value IT Distribution in the new world of services and devices. Centralization and offshoring of key support functions drove significant savings to the bottom line.

Throughout his 8-year tenure with Microsoft, Mathias has built a strong reputation for developing business strategies, incubating new business models, and building out relevant channel programs especially for the Cloud. He strategized and executed highly innovative go-to-market initiatives for India and China which resulted in significant business growth.

Embracing the core values of integrity, respect and loyalty, Mathias has been consistently recognized for his leadership and management skills.
Mathias holds a master’s degree in mechanical engineering as well as biology; he is a passionate pilot and sportsman. He is a regular speaker at various industry events to share his insights and continue his learnings.
