The theme this year is "The Surgeon's Journey" from starting out in practice to negotiating various regulatory, administrative and legal obstacles to effective retirement planning, both financially and in terms of overall wellness. The considerable legal and regulatory challenges that private practice now faces will receive particular attention and we will once again have a live medicolegal case, open debates and an expanded coding session looking at how general and vascular surgeons can enhance earnings through appropriate coding without running afoul of medical scheme forensic processes. As always, there is a focus on developing new technologies and how these can be appropriately funded.
