Randy Brown Business Services Manager at Virginia Dept. of Small Business & Supplier Diversity Randolph (Randy) Brown has worked at Colgate Palmolive and other Fortune 50 companies. While at Colgate, Randy served as the Senior Market Research Manager for the Oral Care Division (Colgate Toothpaste, etc.). He was also the senior researcher assigned to the corporate ethnic marketing group. Upon moving to Richmond, he worked as a consultant for a major market research consulting firm. He has served as a Certification Officer for SWaM and the federal Disadvantage Business Enterprise (DBE) programs with the Department of Minority Business Enterprise (currently the Department of Small Business & Supplier Diversity). He currently serves the Business Services Manager – Central / South Virginia for SBSD. In this role, Randy works with small businesses and various partner organizations to help companies take advantage of business opportunities Virginia offers.

Crystal Cobbs Owner at Cobbs Consulting Crystal started Cobbs Consulting to give businesses and organizations the critical infrastructure, resources, and relationships they need to establish, stabilize, and grow. Her role as President of Black BRAND Dan River Region is an extension of that work. She will be sharing what participants can gain from the SWaM STRONG program.

Kelvin Perry Project Manager at Office of Economic Development for the City of Danville, Virginia Kelvin Perry as Project Manager for the City of Danville, Virginia is responsible for the recruitment and retention of businesses and developers to the River District, assisting with the management of grant and loan programs, assisting with industrial and technology-based recruitment, managing properties owned by the Industrial Development Authority and enterprise zone administration. Kelvin is also an independent consultant with the Longwood Small Business Development Center where he assists small businesses in southern Virginia with business and financial planning In addition to his responsibilities for the City of Danville and Longwood Small Business Development Center, Kelvin actively supports and lead seminars for the Danville Redevelopment Housing Authority for the new homebuyers program. He also serves on the Opportunity Neighborhoods panel through the Danville Regional Foundation. Opportunity Neighborhoods is focused on three separate communities in the city to create a unified roadmap to help them shape their own future and make decisions that focuses on the well being for everyone in the neighborhood. Perry is a graduate of the University of South Carolina with a B.S. degree in Banking and Finance. He has over 32 years in banking and for 16 years he was employed as the president and chief executive officer of First State Bank in Danville Virginia. Kelvin is a community activist and serves on a number of board and commissions throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Karen White Regional Lending Manager at Virginia Department of Small Business & Supplier Diversity Karen Totten White is a Regional Lending Manager for the Virginia Small Business Financing Authority. In this role, she is responsible for assisting small businesses gain the access to the capital they need to grow their business and create jobs in the Commonwealth. Her focus is directed towards the SWaM Microloan and the Child Care Financing Program. Karen served as the Assistant Vice President and Managing Officer of a community bank prior to joining the VSBFA. She brings over 30 years of leadership skills and financial expertise to the agency. The Virginia Small Business Financing Authority (VSBFA) is the Commonwealth of Virginia’s business and economic development financing arm. Aligned within Virginia’s Department of Small Business and Supplier Diversity, the VSBFA offers programs to provide businesses, nonprofits, and economic development authorities with the financing needed for growth and expansion throughout the Commonwealth.
