Introduction

The Tanzania Airports Authority (TAA) was established as an Executive Agency by Government Notice No. 404 in December 1999 under the Executive Agencies Act No. 30 of 1997. The Authority assumed the functions of the former Directorate of Aerodromes under the Ministry of Communications and Transport, now renamed the Ministry of Works and Transport. Since its inception, TAA has been committed to operating, managing, maintaining, and developing government-owned airports in mainland Tanzania in a professional and cost-effective manner. As we celebrate 25 years of dedicated service, we look forward to charting a course towards excellence in airport management and development for 2050 and beyond.
