The Philippines was surprised by a sudden surge of COVID-19 cases in March and April. Because of this, stricter lockdown measures were reimplemented to curtail the increase of cases--over 1 million and counting. But with community quarantine, some businesses had to temporarily close, thus affecting the economic well-being of many Filipinos.
Where might the situation go, pandemic-wise, in the coming months? With foresight provided through epidemiological data and the promise of vaccine arrival in the second half of the year, we might be able to determine with more clarity the path forward. Join us this May 11, 4:00-5:00 p.m. via Zoom in our Monthly Membership Meeting called The Path Forward: Mid-year Updates and Projections on the COVID-19 Pandemic with guest speaker Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire of the Department of Health and Dr Nina Gloriani of the Department of Science and Technology Vaccine Expert Panel.
