Some people start food companies because they love recipes. I started mine because I
wanted to heal my body — and make food that wouldn’t harm us in the process.
Since 2015, I’ve been on a mission to craft better-for-you snacks that taste amazing, fuel
people well, and are made with real, simple ingredients. What started as Lark Ellen Farm —
a tiny granola business out of my Ojai kitchen — has grown into Pure Simple Foods, home
to both Lark Ellen Farm and Purely Sprouted.
Along the way, we didn’t just build a brand — we built a factory, a team, and a way of doing
business that values transparency, integrity, and doing things right (even when it’s harder).
My career didn’t start in food. I spent years in sales and marketing, working my way up at
companies like AT&T and SBC before pivoting to real estate investing and, eventually, to
food manufacturing. That unlikely path taught me how to sell, how to lead, and how to
figure things out when there’s no playbook.
Today, I lead a team of passionate people dedicated to making ridiculously good snacks —
while helping other founders bring their products to life through our manufacturing
partnerships.
At my core, I believe food should nourish more than just our bodies — it should nourish the
people, communities, and systems that make it possible.
