Description:

Join us for a three-session journey into creativity, community, and self-expression! The Threads of Love workshop empowers participants of all skill levels to explore sewing, painting, and accessorizing

Session 1: Introduction! Tuesday-January 21st

We will have a printed (human sized) profile to collage different looks on! Participants will be introduced to different fabrics, tools and materials, including dull needles, various fabrics, and cross-stitching techniques. We will be gaining inspiration, designing three looks, and having fun in this session!

Session 2: Painting & Mixed Media Exploration Tuesday- January 28th

Participants will explore creative expression through painting on canvas materials in rotaries. They will write their name and then we will learn how to felt, paint, or patch fabrics onto their rotaries!

One will be their name, which we will embroider, another their face- which we will felt. These painted pieces will later be sewn onto garments by the facilitators. Additional activities include beadwork to create bracelets or accessories, offering a hands-on introduction to mixed media in fashion.

We will also be painting the backdrop to the fashion show in this session!

Session 3: Accessory Exploration: Tuesday-February 4th

We will be finishing our backdrop to the Runway show in this session and making (or personalizing) accessories including (but not limited to): jewelry, wigs, hats, gloves, sunglasses, capes, shoes!
