Andrew Abram was first appointed General Manager of Mandarin Oriental, Jakarta in 2004. During his first tenure, Andrew oversaw the closure and full renovation of the property as well as its successful re-launch in October 2009. He subsequently moved to take over management of Mandarin Oriental Dhara Dhevi, Chiang Mai in 2012 and brings with him over thirty years of experience in the hospitality industry, having begun his career in 1989 in London.

Andrew's previous appointments include Sales and Marketing Leadership and UK Director at Jumeirah International, Resident Manager of The Excelsior, Hong Kong as well as General Manager of the Niccolo Hotel in Chengdu, China and Managing Director of Soneva Kiri in Thailand. In his second appointment in Jakarta (2017), he is responsible for the hotel’s operations and ensuring that the team continue to deliver the legendary service for which Mandarin Oriental is renowned.

Chris has worked for Cathay Pacific for two years as Country Manager Indonesia and is also the Vice Chairman of the Board of Airline Representative for Indonesia. He is soon to begin a job at Cathay Pacific’s headquarters in Hong Kong. Prior to joining Cathay Pacific, Chris worked for another of the Swire Group’s companies – Swire Pacific Offshore – across 6 different locations. He has a strong passion for all things travel and Indonesia, and is an advocate for inclusion and diversity within the Cathay Pacific Male Allies network. He is a fluent Swahili speaker and keen fitness enthusiast.

Ian Roberts is currently the Managing Director of Informa’s Hospitality Food and Beverage Portfolio at Informa Markets in London. He is responsible for 31 trade events within this portfolio, which includes world leading events including Hotelex in Shanghai and FHA in Singapore. He is also Managing Director of the International Sales Office of Informa Markets working across a multitude of different industry sectors.

Prior to this Ian was the Regional Executive Director for Informa based in Singapore and responsible for Informa’s ASEAN business.

Previously he was the Joint Managing Director of UBM Allworld (formally Allworld Exhibitions Group). In December 2016, the Allworld Exhibitions Group merged with UBM plc, the largest pure-play B2B events organiser in the world, which subsequently became Informa.

A results driven B2B specialist in the events industry, Ian has proven leadership and entrepreneurial capabilities, particularly in revitalising and launching exhibitions in new markets.

Other positions that Ian has held include Managing Director of PT Pamerindo (now a division of Informa), in Jakarta Indonesia, from 2007 till 2012. PT Pamerindo is Indonesia’s largest trade fair organiser with leading exhibitions including Manufacturing Indonesia, Mining Indonesia, Electric and Power Indonesia, and Food and Hotel Indonesia. During this tenure, Ian was also a board member of the British Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Indonesia.

Born and raised in the Netherlands, Laura moved to Indonesia in 1996 where her family has enjoyed long historic and family ties. Having a background in travel and tourism, Mentari Travel Services was established in Jakarta in 1997 with a special focus on the foreign community who are traveling both for business and pleasure. Mentari Travel Services is specialised in domestic and international ticketing and tour packages throughout the Indonesian archipelago which she considers one of the most beautiful countries in the world. In her free time she likes reading, writing and traveling to explore new places.
