Tools and Techniques for Lead Auditors Workshop

Leading internal audit projects requires knowledge and understanding of the audit process, and the ability to guide an engagement team in performing the fundamental responsibilities of internal auditing. This workshop will help participants learn the skills necessary to lead an audit team with confidence from a lead internal auditor's perspective. Lead auditors that complete this course will benefit from proven internal audit practices that can be immediately applied to an organization of any size and within any industry. This workshop is designed for internal auditors with 3-6 years of experience who want to learn the concepts, tools, and techniques to enhance their effectiveness and grow as lead auditors.
The workshop will cover:
- Overview of the IPPF and audit model.
- The Control Environment.
- Audit Governance, Leadership, Roles, and Responsibilities.
- Leading and Mentoring Staff.
- Audit Planning and Opening Conference.
- Audit Risk Assessment, Internal Controls, and Walkthrough.
- Audit Program Development, Fieldwork, Testing, Findings, and Recommendations.
- Audit Reporting, Exit Conference, Wrap-Up, and Workpaper Review.
- Audit Findings: Follow-Up, Validations, and Resolution.
- Quality Assurance and Improvement Program.
- An update on Global Internal Audit Standards.
The workshop will be held on August 19-23, 2024, at the Lake Naivasha Sopa Resort, Naivasha. Charges are KES 65,000 and KES 70,000 exclusive of VAT for members and non-members respectively. Members in attendance will be awarded 20 CPE Hours.

The Institute of Internal Auditors Kenya is an accredited training provider with the National Industrial Training Authority (NITA). The NITA registration number is NITA/TRN/558(25b).
