Melbourne Networking Event

"TOVE" Movie Screening & Cheers to Finland 104 


Join us on Monday 6 December - Finland's 104th Independence Day - for drinks, networking and screening of the Finnish movie "TOVE", about Tove Jansson, creator of the universally loved Moomin characters.


Our special guest will be Finnish Australian Saara Lamberg - a director, actor, writer and producer.


Saara has received several awards for her work, including the Best Film at the IFF (Milan 2018), the Best Film at the FAFF (Los Angeles 2017), Cinema Australia Audience Award (Melbourne 2017).


Saara directed Eeva Putro (the writer of Tove) in her first feature movie Innuendo.

The event is free for FACC members; $25 for guests.

Our "Tove" event just got even more special, as it now falls on Finland's 104th Independence Day!

Join us on Monday 6th December at 6:00 pm for a toast or "Kippis!" to Finland, networking and screening of the Finnish movie "TOVE", about Tove Jansson, creator of the universally loved Moomin characters. Our special guest will be Finnish Australian Saara Lamberg - a director, actor, writer and producer.


The movie screening starts at 7.30pm. Before the movie - from 6.30pm - Saara will entertain us with her insights into the intricacies of movie industry and film making in Australia and Finland.


Saara has received several awards for her work, including the Best Film at the IFF (Milan 2018), the Best Film at the FAFF (Los Angeles 2017), Cinema Australia Audience Award (Melbourne 2017).

Important Note: This event was initially running on Monday 19th July, then Monday 30 August, and has now been re-scheduled to Monday 6th of December. The screening is part of the Scandinavian Film Festival.
