Train-the-Teacher: MakerSpace Tool Trainings
As part of Generator's MakerSchool Program we offer Train-the-Teacher: MakerSpace Tool Trainings, professional development courses that address safety and maintenance operations, curriculum integration, and lesson planning to utilize makerspace tools. Trainings include: Laser Cutter, 3D Printer; Vinyl Cutter; Sewing; and Electronics. This learning series will be offered every Fall, Winter, and Spring for the next three years to ensure our MakerSchool partners receive the necessary training to build out, sustain, and enhance STEAM learning through maker education. Each training has 12 spots that will be made first available to educators at MakerSchools, and then opened up to Vermont educators as space allows.
Specific Training Description
This training provides insights for educators in the STEM/STEAM community how to teach electricity in a fun and safe way! Educators will learn how to make a digital clock on a printed circuit board. This project will help build confidence and an understanding to teach students the fundamentals and behavior of electricity; how to use real-world-math involved with energy; circuits and their key components; basic tools used for electronics; and introductory soldering techniques. Walk away with an experience to share with your students, having them excited to explore the world of electricity.
Explore Burlington's dining options during the designated lunch break. Lunch will not be provided.
