As the world is grappling with the increasingly pressing challenges posed by climate change and environmental degradation, transitioning to a sustainable future has become an urgent priority. Governments, organizations, and financial institutions are recognizing the need to shift towards sustainable practices and allocate resources towards reducing greenhouse gas emissions and mitigating climate-related risks. In this context, two prominent frameworks have been developed to guide organizations in their transition towards a sustainable future – the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) and the Task Force on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD). The transition requires organizations to navigate both the TCFD and TNFD frameworks. These frameworks provide a roadmap for organizations to assess, disclose, and manage climate-related and nature-related risks. By adhering to these frameworks, organizations can better understand their exposure to environmental risks, identify opportunities for sustainable growth, and align their strategies with the global movement towards sustainability.
However, making this transition is arduous and complex. Organizations often face difficulties in identifying and measuring these risks, integrating them into their existing financial and risk management systems, and effectively communicating them to stakeholders. Moreover, the effective implementation of these frameworks requires collaboration across various sectors - including finance, business, government, and civil society. To navigate the TCFD and TNFD frameworks successfully, organizations need a comprehensive understanding of the frameworks, the ability to assess their environmental risks and opportunities, and the capacity to integrate sustainability into their core strategies and operations. Collaboration among stakeholders and access to relevant data and tools are also crucial for a smooth and effective transition to a sustainable future.
In this webinar, we will be hearing from the panel experts who will be sharing their experiences and insights in navigating TCFD and TNFD Frameworks. This aims to introduce new concepts and initiate the discussion in developing better adaptive mechanisms for businesses. This virtual event will benefit the BSD Member Companies to stay up-to-date on the latest developments and have the networking opportunity to connect with thought leaders.
