Travel Reimagined: an APEC and Airbnb Tourism Forum, is an online event bringing together public and private sector speakers to explore topics including reopening travel, sustainability in travel, and the digital tourism economy in the Asia Pacific region. The COVID-19 pandemic has left the travel and tourism sectors, which are critical to the region, forever changed. These panels will be an opportunity to imagine how the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) can collaborate to bring back and better rebuild travel and tourism.
Hosted by APEC, Airbnb, and NCAPEC, the Forum will comprise a series of virtual panels to discuss the future of the tourism industry and tourism recovery in the APEC region. Speakers will include tourism experts, business leaders and senior government officials.
11:00 AM - 12:00 PMSession 1: Reopening Travel in APEC
The dream of achieving seamless travel and mobility across APEC has been heavily set back by COVID-19. This panel considers how to facilitate the reopening of borders and explores innovative ideas, such as green lanes and remote work visas, to enable a vibrant and competitive APEC tourism industry of the future.
