MARKET OPPORTUNITY:

Saudi Arabia is located at the convergence of three continents, with over 40 fast-growing markets within 4 hours' reach, 40 percent of the world's GDP within six hours, and over half of the world's population within seven hours. The transformation of the Saudi aviation sector for the past few years has contributed to the Kingdom's advancement to the world's second fastest growing tourism destination in 2022 from a small number of international leisure travelers a few years prior. Over 120 foreign airlines currently operate in the Kingdom. In 2023, Saudi airports witnessed a record 111 million passengers and expanded connectivity to 140 destinations worldwide. GACA plays a key role in advancing these transformative initiatives by establishing the regulatory framework and offering strategic guidance to drive the growth and innovation of the civil aviation industry within the Kingdom's 29 airports.

According to the National Aviation Strategy, the Kingdom aims to handle 330 million passengers, offer 250 destinations, and achieve annual air cargo capacity of 4.5 million tons. by 2030. The logistics sector is anticipated to include six port zones, four air cargo centers, 10 dry port zones, 10 land border crossings, 18 industrial logistics zones, 50 in-country distriparks, 10 special economic zones (SEZs), and eight international distriparks. The Kingdom announced the masterplan to establish 59 logistics centers and incentives packages in 2023. An estimated 21 logistics zones and 5 SEZs are currently active. Meeting these goals will contribute to the Kingdom's ambition to become a top 10 tourist destination and a global logistics hub by 2030.
