Unlike most federal employees, AUSAs are not compensated on the general schedule (GS). This program will detail how AUSAs have been systematically undercompensated for decades and what we can do about it. In addition, you will learn how to check your salary against the relevant pay grade and determine whether you are at the bottom, middle, or top of your pay band.

Adam Hanna is an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Southern District of Illinois and is assigned to the civil division. He handles financial litigation, asset forfeiture, and defensive tort litigation. Adam is also NAAUSA's vice president for membership and operations. He has studied the administratively determined (AD) pay system and issued Freedom of Information Act requests on the topic to the Department of Justice for NAAUSA.
Steve began his career at DOJ in 1996 as a trial attorney in the Office of Enforcement Operations and then in the Organized Crime and Racketeering Section. In 2003, he became an AUSA in the USAO-DC, which is his current position. He has been a NAAUSA member since 2003, and a Director and Officer for NAAUSA since 2013. Currently, he is our National President.
