Greetings from the German Engineering Federation (VDMA).
As of 2024, Germany remains a pivotal foreign investor in India, holding its position as the 7th largest foreign direct investor. Cumulative investments from Germany have reached over USD 14.6 billion from April 2000 to March 2024. Bilateral trade between Germany and India continues its upward trend, with the trade volume surpassing USD 33 billion in 2023, reflecting a 5% growth compared to the previous year. German exports to India reached a record USD 17.8 billion, representing nearly a 14% increase.
More than 1,800 German companies operate in India, generating over 425,000 jobs both directly and indirectly. In FY 2023, Germany's FDI inflows into India totaled USD 505 million, signaling sustained investment momentum. Meanwhile, more than 215 Indian companies are established in Germany, primarily in sectors such as IT, automotives, and pharmaceuticals.
With Indo-German relations reaching new milestones, VDMA India, in collaboration with esteemed partners, is pleased to announce the VDMA South India Members Meet: Indo-German Business Forum – Collaborative Opportunities in Engineering.
