Registration is open ONLY from May 28, 2024 through close of business May 30, 2024. There is no registration fee for this training and both hotel rooms (if requested) and lunch are included as part of registration.

This process is for those who wish to attend the July 2024 Academy to apply for a spot. Information on funding, licensing, and length of time at Agency must be completed as part of this process. Please keep in mind that you are required to attend all 3 days in their entirety, as well as complete an additional supplemental online training requirement in order to successfully complete Academy. Registrations will no longer be automatic and accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Instead they are reviewed and approved by PCCD based on grant requirements. Additionally, only a maximum of 8 staff members per agency may apply for each Academy.

Once prioritized, the top 55 applicants will be notified of their acceptance into Academy. All others will be placed on the waitlist and notified of such. The selection process will take up to 2 weeks. All pending applicants will be contacted as soon as the lists are finalized. We ask for your patience during that time period; as a reminder, we will contact you either way.

As a reminder, Academy spots are only for those VOCA, VOJO, and RASA-Funded individuals for whom attendance is required per PCCD's Consolidated Victim Services Standards. VOCA-funded attorneys doing Civil Legal Services for their agencies must instead attend and complete the PA Legal Aid Network Training. For more information, please contact PLAN directly. Additionally, licensed therapists, contractors, and consultants such as bookkeepers and accountants no longer need to attend. Please contact your PCCD Grant Monitor with any questions about the new attendance requirements.

If you are registering someone other than yourself or multiple people for your agency, please ensure that all participant email addresses are included as there will be multiple emails sent to the participants. Additionally, please be sure that they are aware of this training, the date and time, and that they plan to attend.

Anyone registered who cancels after the cancellation date or does not show will be billed for any expenses related to them.

Cancellations

Please keep in mind that there will be a waiting list for Foundational Academy. Please inform the PDAI Training Consultant ASAP if you need to cancel your reservation. Any cancellations received after July 3, 2024 and any no-shows will incur all expenses related to their registration including room rentals and food & beverage.

Hotel Room Reservations

This training will take place at the Graduate State College. Hotel rooms are included in the registration for the Foundational Academy. If you need overnight accommodations, this information must be requested during the application process. Hotel rooms requests must be made during this application process.

Acceptance & Course Materials

Accepted participants will receive an Acceptance Letter, Agenda, and the supplemental online training information as soon as the lists have been finalized. The online courses are part of the curriculum and must be completed 60 days post-Academy in order to receive the Certificate of Completion. PowerPoints will be emailed to the class the week of the Academy.

The Agenda has been developed with all requirements in mind and all participants are expected to be present for all sessions in order to receive credit for the in-person academy, as well as to sign in and out to verify attendance. No exceptions. The Academy runs from approximately 8 AM – 5 PM each day.

Deferred Apps/Waiting List

Those who are not initially accepted into the class will be contacted as soon as the lists are finalized and placed onto the waitlist. If you request to be added to the waitlist after May 30, 2024 and the close of the application process, you will be added to the non-priority waitlist and encouraged to apply for the November 2024 Academy when that opens.
