Plastic waste pollution has been a tremendous issue around the globe. In Lao PDR, generations of daily wastes significantly consist of single-use plastics generated from households and shops. Moreover, it has been found that single-use plastics have been widely and regularly used in meetings and offices. Items such as mini plastic bottles, plastic sachets and banners are regularly found in almost every meeting in Laos.
The concept of 'Please Free Office' was then developed and introduced through a Plastic Free Meeting and Office Handbook in late 2021 by Department of Environment, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (DoE, MoNRE), working together with Econox Laos.
This Plastic Free Office Module has been created based on the core principles of the aforementioned handbook and developed together with tools from Plastic Free Laos Label. It consists two main parts, such as: (1) awareness raising and introduction of Plastic Free Laos Label and (2) how to achieve a target of Plastic Free Office.
