Kevin Cleary, Naturally Bay Area Board Member and Principal of Big Rock Growth Advisors will lead the discussion. We'll hear about balancing growth with profit, the critical levers for profitability, and the challenges you might face when shifting to a profit mindset.

    Rick has over 40 years of sales and marketing experience in the food industry. He is a proven, recognized and passionate leader. Rick spent 20 years with The Quaker Oats Company. He began his career selling to retail grocery stores in central Illinois. He continuously rose to greater levels of responsibility in the organization and building extensive experience during his time with Quaker. These experiences included sales, sales management, category insight, and headquarter based customer marketing and brand marketing.
    Following Quaker, Rick spent 16 years with CLIF Bar and Company. He retired at the end of 2019 as the Executive Vice President of Sales. At CLIF, Rick led all sales functions and played key roles on the company’s executive leadership team. During his tenure with CLIF, he grew sales and profits more than ten-fold and developed a world-class fact-based selling organization. Rick has experience across all channels of business and is known for building long-term mutually beneficial customer relationships.
    He also served on the Organic Trade Association Board for three years from 2015-2018.
    Rick is a graduate of Indiana University with a degree in Marketing and Management. He has been married to Diane for more than 40 years. They have one daughter, Sydney and a dog, Ruby. Rick enjoys biking, hiking, camping, music and reading.

    Greg Doyle is the COO/CFO for GoMacro, a privately-held and family owned plant-based, nutrition bar company. He also serves as the Managing Director of the GoMacro Family Office. Prior to joining GoMacro, Greg had successes in both large public Fortune 100 companies with as much as $250M in P&L responsibility, as well as early to mid-sized privately held companies with up to $200M in revenue. Greg has successfully built and led multiple early to mid-stage companies to successful acquisitions or major liquidity events. Greg also spent some time as a venture capitalist before moving full-time into roles as a portfolio C-level operator. Over his career, Greg has raised over $200M of investment dollars into the companies he’s been a part of. Greg has also served as CEO and COO/CFO for prior organizations. Greg is a strong operator with expert leadership in visionary thinking, strategic planning, team building, finance, accounting, operations, M&A, R&D, and building strategic partnerships.

    Brandon Hernandez is a Senior Partner at Whole Brain Consulting, which operates nationally out of its two offices in Colorado and Chicago. After earning his degree in Biology from Colorado State University (Go Rams! – Please don’t hold it against him, Boulder!), Brandon began his career in food safety, supply chain, R&D and general plant operations management at Zateca Foods. He spent a number of years working his way through the operational, research and development, supply chain, and quality assurance aspects of food manufacturing, and now plans to use those skills in the Boulder/CPG communities. Brandon enjoys spending his free time with family and friends, snowboarding, and playing soccer. He, and Whole Brain, look forward to serving the CPG community to the best of his ability for years to come.
